22 Months!

Well, I just realized I never finished my 21 month post, so this will be a combination 21-22 months.

Carson seems like such a big boy sometimes, especially now with his 'little boy' haircut.  He is definitely a full-blown toddler BOY.  His little personality just keeps developing.  He is generally so sweet and affectionate.  He loves to give kisses and hugs.  He'll blow a kiss to anyone and makes a smooch sound at just about everything.  For example, he'll look up and see the moon, say "moon", then make a smooch sound with his lips.  At night after I put him in his crib, he gives me a kiss and then starts jumping and tries to give me kisses in between jumps.  LOVE.

My unfinished 21-month post started with, "He's finally "talking" away.  He has SO many more words this month than last month.  He's also began letter recognition, and his teachers say he is trying so hard when they are doing their ABC's in class.  He can recognize and say B, C, D, E, F, and O.  I was trying to go in order, but he won't say "A."  He loves going to H.E. "BBBBB!!!"

At that time, the words I could think of that I knew he'd said were:

Mommy
Daddy
Duck (& quack quack)
Dog
Moo (for cow)
Sit
Wall
Ball
Bird
Night Night
Bye
Choo Choo (for train)
Ooh Ooh (for monkey)
Elephant sounds
Up
Wa Wa (water)
Moon
Bubbles
Bus
Eye
Mow (mouth)
Uh Oh
Ear
Knee
Baby
High
Boat
Go
Bad Bug
Ladybug
Manny (Barney)
Door
Money

I quit keeping track for his 22-month update.  That list has easily DOUBLED by now!  Just eyeballing the list above, so many more words that he knows keep popping in my head.  Every day there are new words.  He can copy just about anything we say.  I'm also amazed at how many letters he knows.  He sees words and starts naming all the letters.  If it wasn't for the "R", he'd have his name down.  He's putting little 2-3 word sentences together.  He's also started declaring various items as "MINE!" and then hiding him behind his back... definitely something I see probably happening at school... a lot.

He's been helping with his prayers now, and the things he consistently thanks God for are:  Emmy (Emily from Thomas the Train), Cuckoo (my parent's cuckoo clock from Germany), and Goggies (Doggies).  He's also thanked God for "me" (as in himself), milk, wa wa (water), schoo (school), and Canky (Cranky from Thomas the Train).   Think he likes Thomas the Train stuff???

His schedule has changed a little bit. He used to go to bed between 7 and 8, usually around 7:30; however, since it's still so bright outside, he's been staying up a little later. Now, he's usually going to bed around 8:30. He's been sleeping a little later too, which has been nice. He rarely fights going to bed and most days he's more than ready. He sleeps through the night with no problem. He still LOVES his green blanket and shoves it in his mouth. It's his pacifier. We only have it for sleeping and snuggling at the house.  He's got a 2nd, smaller one we keep at school during the week.  Most days he's taking a pretty good nap at school, usually about 2 hours. Some days it's less and occasionally, he'll sleep 2.5 hours. Wish he'd do that at home on the weekends! He fights going down for naps, but always gives in after 10-15 minutes.  He still really hasn't tried to crawl out of the crib.  He's got all his "goggies" in there and likes to be in his crib.

He still LOVES to be outside ("SAI-YA" and will ask (or demand) to go on a walk. He climes in his wagon and says yells "WALK."  He also loves throwing the frisbee or a ball to the dogs.  He loves sliding and climbing on his jungle gym.  He loves making baskets with his "BAHTY-BALL."  He LOVES playing with the outside faucets and watering the plants (well, or just watching the water come out of the nozzle and onto the concrete).

His favorite toys are his trains, hands down.

Still doesn't like to brush his teeth.

Is a whiz on the iPad.

Always points to the "SUNNNN" on the wall at his school as we're leaving and then tells me all about the "SAN-DUH" in his shoes.

Walks like thug (with a little swagger), but runs like a fairy (waves his hand very goofy-like when he runs).  We'll have to work on that!

He loves to swing. He didn't want to leave school yesterday. When I went to go get him, he was swinging in a big swing and a little girl from his class was pushing him. It was PRECIOUS. He did NOT want to leave. First girlfriend, maybe???

Hasn't shown any real signs of interest in potty training. One time asked him if he went poo poo (because I knew he had) and he told me yes. Or, if he sees one of us using the potty and we say "tee tee", he gets really excited and just keeps saying "tee tee" over and over again, but that's about it. Of course, it would be nice to be done with diapers, but there's no rush. I've heard (especially with boys) that if you try before they are really ready, it will NOT be a good experience. He's still really young for all that.

He loves singing songs with hand motions or actions. Ring Around the Rosey is his favorite.

He wasn't up for posing (usually isn't) since he was so wrapped up in playing with his trains. He usually likes to carry what he can to the car in the morning. This morning we had Thomas, Percy, and Emily.

Waving to a passer-by...

 Making a train...

Jumping up and down in excitement by his accomplishment...

 Distracted by a yellow flower...

We love you so much, little Munchie!!!  I can't believe you are almost TWO!!!  You fill us with so much joy and always keep us laughing and on our toes!!!

Now... WHERE IS MY CELL PHONE AND THE REMOTE?????
