Random Carsonisms

"We match!!"  (This is with regard to anything that is the same.  If we have the same cup, if he has two of the same toy, if we both have on the same color shirt.  He LOVES to match!)

Carson asked me what I was doing.  I told him, "Putting on make-up."  His response, "Oh, good."  My response, "Thanks, kid.  Does Mommy need make-up or something?"  His response, "Yes."  Thanks, Carson.  Thanks a lot.

When we took Carson's birthday invites to school to put in the kids' cubbies, he was reading the names on the envelopes and handing them out accordingly all by himself.  I'm amazed by his recognition of names.  I guess he's used to seeing them on the table, folders, artwork, etc.  He even knows how to spell a lot of the kids' names in his class.  (He can barely use his silverware and can't take his clothes on or off too well, but he can spell his classmates names.  Gotta work on those other skills!)

I think Carson is really starting to get excited about his baby sister. Today he told me to tell the baby to come out so she can play with him.  I told him that she couldn't come out yet because she needed to get bigger. He told me to tell her to get big bigger said she could come out and play with him.  Tonight during his prayers after he thanked God for all of his cousins, I asked him which of his cousins he liked to play with the most.  He told me his baby sister.  I told him that we should ask God to help make her big and strong. So he said, "God, make her big."  So sweet!!

"I have an idea!!!"

"The water's not coming out."  (When he tries to tee tee and nothing happens.)

He is very much in a "watch this!" phase.

After I made a couple of things for Little Miss, Carson was so excited.  He kept saying they were for his "Baby Sister."  When they weren't hanging up in our room, he even asked me where the clothes for his baby sister were?

We are trying to break a "yep" habit.  He knows he should say "yes", "yes, sir", "yes, ma'am", or "yes, please"; however, we still get the occasional "yep."  When we give him "the look" after he said it the other day, he quickly said, "YEP.... SIR!"  He started laughing and then said "that's a joke!"  Goober.  You better believe he corrects us any time we say "yep" too.  He quickly says, "No, Mommy.  Don't say "yep".  Say "yes, sir.""

Random Carsonisms

"It's going to be o--kay, Mommy.  It's going to be o--kay!"

"Don't snap me!"

"I turned on the light to see what's there."

"Cael is my BEST friend!" (7/3/13)

"I'm a 'neked' baby!"

"Ha, ha, ha, that's funny."

All his "jokes" are about gender.  If you ask him what kind of baby is in Mommy's tummy, sometimes he says "A boy."  Then he gets this silly look on his face and says "Nooooo."  Then he starts cracking up and says "that's funny."  Today I asked him about his girlfriends and he named several at school and also said "Mommy."  He then said "Daddy", got that same silly look on his face and said "Nooooooo."

"You stay right there, Mommy.  I go get it.  You stay right there."

"This is so much fun!"

Carson's new favorite song for me to sing at bedtime is Edelweiss.  I usually have to sing it multiple times.  I wasn't really paying attention by the time I got around to singing it the third or fourth time, and I failed to go to the last part about "bless my homeland forever."  Carson quickly corrected me and told me to sing "the house part" (I guess he thinks homeland and house are related).  Apparently Andrew has never heard this song (what?!?!?!), so he better learn it soon!

Carson also loves Amazing Grace.  He's got the first verse down pretty good and will sing with me, but the verse with "toils and snares" is "trolls and snails" or "trolls and stairs."

Listening to Carson say "Jack & Jill" is SO hilarious to me.  Jack broke his "Crayon" y'all, not his crown.  Makes more sense, right?!?  I guess he doesn't really "say" it either.  He's usually dancing and reciting it with a lot of passion.  Goober.

Random Carson Sayings/Doings

"Daddy got black" .... Carson's response to the ashes on Andrew's forehead on Ash Wednesday.

Carson found two of Andrew's insulin pens and two bottles of medicine and started playing the drums.

He saw two bucks fighting on TV and said the deer were wrestling.

The thought the gobbler (male turkey) in full strut was a chicken.

He ran into the couch and the "couch hurt me" so we put the couch in time out.  After the buzzer went off, we hugged the couch and reinforced that it's not nice to hurt people.

For the record, Carson LOVES when other people have to go to time out.  Wannie went in time out for hitting Andrew (i.e. a little slap on the back in jest).  He will call anyone out if he thinks they hit someone.  At least he's learning that hitting isn't okay.... it's hard to explain to a 2 year old what a love pat is.

We told Carson that Shooter liked to have his booty scratched (i.e. on the end of his back right above the tail).... well... when we told him to scratch Shooter, he pretty much went straight for the booty hole.  GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.  We had to wash his hands REALLY good.  YUCK!!!

He tried to feed Rahul (one of his Cars cars) pancakes.

Always asks what things are even when he knows the answer.  I think he just likes me to say "you know what that is" just so he can tell me and then hear me tell him good job.  Silly boy.

"Fix ick" is "fix it"

Carson kept talking about a "monnie moo moo" for the longest time in the bath tub. We have FINALLY figured out what it is.... the water wheel on his Thomas toy. WTH? Where'd he get that??

Random Carsonisms

Carson just flat out makes us laugh.  His little voice and choice of words are so funny and sweet sometimes.  Of course, you have to hear it in person, but a few of his sayings or comments lately include:

"That's beautiful."  - Out of nowhere he said this about one of our potted flowers on the back porch.  I've heard him say things are pretty, but beautiful was a new one.

"That's fun." or "This fun." - He just tells himself when he's having a good time.

He just narrates the whole walk to school in the morning.  The birds, I mean doves (he's specific).  The motorcycles.  The flags.  The trees.  The cats.  The pumpkins on people's porches.  The clouds.  The bicyles at the elementary school.  You name it.  He's talking the whole way.

He LOVES the ice cream man.  We've only bought twice, but he knows the sound from a mile away.  We ate dinner outside last night and he started crying because he wanted to "see ice cweam mam."

He's obsessed with me picking up "doggy poop" in the back yard.  He walks all over the yard looking for it and will find the tiniest pieces and tell me "more doggy poop, Mommy.  That's yucky,  or "That's gross."  He will NOT let me not pick some up.  He always finds one more piece after I've put up the pooper scooper.

He has a strangely good memory.  Everytime we talk about the ice cream man, he recalls that "mommy ate bunny rabbit candies."  Yes, he didn't want the Bugs Bunny ice cream thingy he picked out, so I ate it.  He also remembers that "g-ma took bus. Carson hit mommy."  Yes, my mom bought him a little school bus at the museum, but as we were leaving the store, he hit me (he was REALLY tired).  So, G-Ma (as he was randomly calling her that weekend, instead of Gigi) took it away from him, and boy, he hasn't forgotten.

A helicopter flew over our house last night and Andrew told him how cool it was.  So, of course, that's what Carson kept repeating.  "That cool."

I got him one of those Hot Wheels racetracks that goes on the wall and he LOVES it.  He keeps trying to put his Cars cars on it, but "they too big, Mommy."  He'll go through all of his cars and tell me which ones are too big.  For example, "the bus too big, Mommy."

I guess I always say "that's right" when I ask him what something is, so now when he starts talking about something, he automatically adds "that's right" on the end.

At school they say a little prayer before meals and snacks and we let Carson lead the prayers before we eat at home.  It's so sweet to hear him sing, "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, thank you, God for feeding me."

I know there's more, but those are some quick ones off the top of my head.
