Make Ya Smile Monday!

Our nanny, Nicole, had her daughter at our house a couple days last week. Carson LOVED having a friend to play with. How cute are they snuggled up on the couch during "winding down time"??? (Note: He totally had an "I want Mommy meltdown" about 2 seconds later.)

And who doesn't love a few pup pics???

Shooter (i.e. Shooter Patooter, Shoot, Shoot Patoot, Bubba, Bubs, Boo Boo, etc.)

Lucy (i.e. Luce Magoose, the Magoose, Soose, Lucille, Soose Magoose, Baby Girl, etc.)

(Not kidding - pictures of this crazy dog and that freak tongue are what got me though labor. How could you see that and not smile/laugh???)

Because Friday Got Busy

I missed my Friday Faves because I was pretty busy at work, and I couldn't find my cord to get the pics from my phone. So, here ya go!

Knock-off (i.e. Walmart) Pirates Booty - Better than the real thing I.M.O.

Blue Diamond Products - especially Dark Chocoate Almonds & Almond Nut-Thins - YUMMY!!!

New Kicks - NO, and I repeat, NO shoes fit on this kid. I don't know what it is other than his foot must be very thick. Found some Trumpettetoo shoes on clearance at Tar-jay that worked! YAY! Check out those cankles though! :-)

Animal Crackers - Who doesn't love them!

Real Naps - YES, my child is finally sleeping for 1-1.5 hours, TWICE a day! Can I get a WHOOP!!!

Shiner Ruby Redbird - A refreshing summer treat!

FINISHING my 1st Carson Sewing Project!

Not a Friday Fave = TWO, yes TWO people thinking this sweet little boy was a GIRL... are you FREAKING KIDDING ME???? Must be these beyond precious curls...

What Do You Get for a 1 Year Old???

Clueless Mommy over here! Help!!!

Any ideas one what to get Little C for his 1st birthday???

Ready. Set. Go!!!

The Other Stuff...

Okay, so I admitted to copy/pasting for Carson's 11 month update, with personalized changes of course. Well... OF COURSE this caused me to leave out a lot. So, here's a few other things that came to mind after the initial post...

+Gives super sweet hugs
+In a VERY clingy-to-mommy stage
+Has this super cheesy, fake laugh that is hilarious
+His real laugh comes out a lot though, especially when we play Flippety Flopper with the pups
+Still loves to make motor boat sounds with his mouth
+Carnivore
+Did I mention, he's a major carnivore? This kid LOVES meat! Chicken, sausage, bacon, steak, fajitas, you name it...
+LOVES canned green beans. He'd probably eat the whole can if I dumped it out for him.
+Loves to bounce up and down...in the crib...at the gates...in front of the TV... on anything he pulls up on.
+He doesn't actually watch much TV, but he LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba! He loves to dance (i.e. jump up and down) in front of the TV.
+Knows the different foods on his plate and chooses his next bite wisely.
+Loves his "baby" (Andrew's, yes Andrew's, old Madame Alexander baby doll from when she was little)
+Has started doing this Indian thing with his mouth... patting it, sometimes with the back of his hand and other times with the front.
+HATES having his diaper changed. I don't know if he really hates it. I think Mommy hates it more because he will NOT stay still! It's amazing that a tube of Boudreaux's or a bottle of hand santizer can be an attention-getting life saver.
+LOVES skinny dipping in the baby pool

+Not a huge fan of bath time anymore. Doesn't really hate or love it. Each night is hit or miss. We're pretty much just in & out on most days. We do play "which is the duck" between his rubber duckies and other bath toys.
+Favorite past time is pulling EVERY book off the shelf (especially right after I picked them up)
+Really getting good at walking behind his push toys
+Fights bed time now :-(
+LOVES BOOKS. Watching him sit on the floor, book in hand, quietly turning the pages is just PRECIOUS. He turns the pages much faster and more aggressively when Mommy is reading.
+Every night, we must read Goodnight Moon (thanks, Kelsey!), Rocky Mountain Babies (thanks, Catie!), Baby Hugs (thanks, Mom!), and several of his prayers out of his prayer board book (thanks, Me!).
+Regarding his "figure", he's not chunky at all like many people think. Yes, he is HUGE for his age, but he is perfectly proportional, and actually more on the lean side now. I'm almost positive he will be taller than his daddy and takes more after his Papi and Pops.
+He has wild man hair. If I didn't comb it into that perfect little boy 'do', he'd look like Conan O'Brien. He really could use a hair cut around the ears, but I can't do it yet. Oh, and those curls in the back are TOO SWEET! It seems to be getting lighter too! How do we have a blonde child???
+Still wrestles with his bear, but lately seems to prefer his blanket from Jolee. Mommy was a big time blanket person, so it looks like he might be following in my footsteps. He SHOVES it into his mouth and sleeps that way. Goober. He never took to the pacifier, but still wants that sucking feeling.

Well, in only two short weeks, Carson will be the BIG ONE!!!! I still can't believe it.

Fathers' Day! Better late than never...

Andrew's parents came over on that Saturday night and we cooked out. Sunday we went to church and then out to eat at the new taco joint around the corner, Fuzzy's. It was pretty good. They got our order wrong for the second time, but oh well. A taco is a taco. I guess they knew I didn't need the tempura shrimp and gave me grilled fish instead. Carson definitely like the rice and beans and his chicken fajita taco!

Three Generations!

Loving the new ball pit! Thanks, Wannie!

Father's Day wasn't about big gifts. It was just about fathers spending time with their sons. Andrew is so blessed to have an amazing father that taught him what it means to be a dad. Anyone can be a father, but it takes a special man to be a daddy. (I totally stole that from somewhere, but know where.) Carson is so blessed to have a wonderful, involved, loving Daddy and Papi! I can't wait to see all the Father/Son things to come. That first fish or duck... man, that will be special! :-)

Happy 1st Father's Day, Da Da!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

Why? Wednesdays

Is furniture ever NOT on sale?

This one was from Sarah last week, and I could not agree more - Why do you get all that gunky stuff up in your coffee mugs when you run the dishwasher, especially when you put almost already clean dishes in there?

Along with that... why do I have to pretty much wash my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher? Isn't that the dishWASHER's job?

Why was the model on the Justin Bieber perfume ad that came in something from Dillards a grown woman (or at least looked like one)? She seriously could have been his mom. Sick.

Wouldn't companies save a lot of money by not sending so much crap in the mail? Who really reads, keeps, and responds to all that junk?

Am I the only one that loves the smell of Lowes or Home Depot?

Why do I bother buying any clothes that need to be ironed?

Why does my child decide to change his nap time AFTER I have already set the time and had his invitations printed for his birthday??? This could be disastrous!

Do people I grew up with still call me Emily Morgan? I know I still refer to just about everyone from high school or church by their maiden names. Half the time I don't even remember their married names.

Why do I automatically think someone is pregnant if they say they have big news?

How did people live before air conditioning?

Make Ya Smile Tuesday!

I don't know what it is, but this picture just cracks me up!

(And yes, I know his diaper is full.)

More farm 4th of July cuteness to come...

:-)
