Friday I headed to Crystal Beach for Jamie's Bachelorette Party and then left early afternoon to drive through Baytown, get Carson, head to Hobby, fly to Dallas, celebrate my grandparents 65th (WOW!) wedding anniversary, then turn around and fly home Sunday night. Whew...
Andrew needed to get back home by 4:30, so I got to Baytown around 3:00, which put us at Hobby at 4:00pm. Our flight wasn't until 7:00pm. FYI - I wasn't originally going to bring Carson, but decided at the last minute to add him since pretty much my entire family was going to be in Dallas. Originally, the logistics were just to crazy for Andrew and Carson to come, but we made it work for at least Carson to be there (since he is still FREE to fly). Andrew, you were missed....
Anyways, we got to the airport at 4:00 thinking we could get on an earlier flight. We could... for $120 dollars. No thank you. So, having to entertain a toddler at the airport for 3 hours immediately sounded like the biggest nightmare every, but, you know what... Carson was AWESOME!!!
Mommy bought an inexpensive Graco stroller at the last minute at Target with a BIG basket and tray table. BOB Stroller, why must your basket be tiny and worthless??? And, why do I have to spend $60 dollars to get a tray?? This whole Graco stroller was $60 and was AWESOME for travelling.
Crusing through the airport....
Checking out the "AH-PANE"... heard that probably a million times!
We waved hi and bye to the "AH-PANES" A.LOT.
We shared some sweet potato fries...
Play a lot of iPad...
Fascinated....
Waving to the airplanes and telling one to "wait"... he didn't want it to leave.
There was no sleeping on the plane, but he did happily sit in my lap and read lots of books and play on the iPad when it was allowed. He liked looking out the window on the way there. We also had fun riding on the parking "busssss"... yes, we sang Wheels on the Bus, motions and all, on a full bus. He was the entertainment.
We didn't get to my parents' house until after 9:00pm and Carson got his second wind after "Pops" played the "coo coo"clock. Someone did NOT want to go to sleep and probably didn't fall asleep until after 10:00.... and then woke up at 6:00am ready to go.
Carson and Uncle Dave played hard before church and Carson was just about out as we got to church, but he made it through and had fun in the nursery. He was out after about 2 minutes on the way home...
Nap time wasn't long enough on Sunday, and so he was not the most pleasant person at the party... oh well, I know they were all still glad to see him. He was OUT as soon as we got back in my car in Houston at about 6:45....
Slept the whole way home until about 8:00, then pretty much immediately went back to sleep in his crib.
He didn't wake up until 8:00 this morning... and probably would have stayed in there longer, but we had our first SWIMMING LESSONS!!! Think he was tired???
I am SO, SO thankful that this trip went smoothly. I was a little (okay, a lot) nervous about flying with a toddler. We'll be doing it again soon, so I feel MUCH better about the whole thing!
Thank you, Carson!!! Not only were you so good, you were so good that we got compliments on how good you were (and cute!). Hope this wasn't a fluke and that you decide to be good next time too!

Way to go Carson!!
