Friday Faves

1. PETS! - They are so much more than just pets, they really are members of the family. I was sad to learn this morning that one of my childhood pets, Zipper, is now in kitty heaven (see the previous post). I hope she made friends with Steinway, who was the reason we got Zipper in the first place, and with Bailey, Andrew's beloved lab. I hope she also is hanging out with her adopted sister, Patches, who went to kitty heaven a few years ago thanks to a car. I feel so blessed to have such awesome pups now, Shooter and Lucy. After we lost Bailey, we never thought there could be another pup as awesome as she was. We were wrong. In no way did they replace her, but Shooter and Lucy have been such great dogs in their own individual ways. The kitty I got in college, Bibby, and since abandoned (not really, she lives HAPPILY at my parents' house) is a pretty cool cat himself. He's got it WAY better there than he would here. I refuse to buy wet cat food...gross! Andrew's allergic, so it wouldn't have worked out anyway.

2. 89.3 KSBJ - I've never really listened to contemporary Christian music, not for any particular reason, I just usually had a country or classic rock station on. At the ACTS retreat I went to with our church back in October, I was exposed to a lot of amazing music that I wasn't really familiar with. Music in general has always been very moving to me and certain songs really evoke strong emotions for me. Don't ever ask me names of songs or who sings them though, I have NO idea. This drives Andrew crazy! :-) Anyways, when the women from our retreat get together for faith sharing or our early morning prayer time, we usually start it off by listening to a song. I found that not only did many of these songs send me a message, I actually liked a lot of the music. So, just this past week I've started listening to it during the day on my computer. I've found that it really helps me keep Christ on my mind throughout the day. It also has filled me with positive messages throughout the day versus some of the messages that mainstream music puts out.

3. Finding out about our Tax Refund $ - Yes, I know it's a free loan to the government because it's my money in the first place, but I'll take it anyway! :-)

4. My sweet boy's big smile! Not only does it light up his whole face, it lights up everyone else who sees it!

5. Easter candy - I can guiltily say that both bags I bought are gone. Cadbury Mini Eggs & Reese's Eggs are my favorites! I will add that they are gone SOLELY because of me. Is that bad?!??! :-)

Happy Friday!
