Mother's Day!

I have to say I had the best Mother's Day gift of all! Not only did I get to spend the day with my sweet baby boy and husband, I got to share the weekend with my mother and one of my grandmothers (and my dad and one of my grandfathers, of course!). Meme & Dede had never been to our house and have only been able to see Carson a handful of times. It isn't easy for Meme to travel, so I was so thankful that she was up to making the trip down to good 'ole Nederland.

They got in Friday evening and we just ordered a pizza. Andrew and his dad were still out of town, so ordering food versus cooking was definitely the plan. The little man was still in a good mood and was up for showing off his new crawling skills for his grandparents and great-grandparents.

We just hung around the house on Saturday and enjoyed a little local BBQ for lunch, but Saturday night, we thought we'd show Meme & Dede a little bit about what Southeast Texas is all about. What better place to take them than Larry's French Market. There you get your choice of just about anything fried, seafood, a live zydeco band, and people-watching galore! It can be a little loud in there, but the hostess was very accommodating and found us a table away from all the music.

Larry's... a little Southeast Texas flair!

(And yes, my dad is sporting his very loud "CLAW" t-shirt. Go Rangers!)

Carson was a rock star the whole time. There is definitely a lot to look at, so he was set. He also enjoyed a little chocolate meringue pie from the All You Can Eat Buffet. :-)

Sunday morning we headed to church with my parents and then Wanda and Dan came over too for hamburgers before my crew headed back up to the Big D. We had a full house, and I LOVED it!

The Spread...

Carson has started making this "fish face"... weird. Hilarious. But weird.

I feel beyond blessed that God chose me to be Carson's mommy. :-)
